This gorgeous old mine cut diamond and pearl bar pin is unusually substantial for this type of brooch. The pin is an elongated oval of lacy platinum layered over 14k yellow gold, pierced in a delicate foliate pattern. Delicately engraved leaves, each set with a pair of natural pearls, alternate with six bezel set stones. The chunky old mine diamonds have a generous total weight of 1.5cts and there are 10 pearls. The bar pin secures with a safety clasp. A rather grand example of this classic style, this brooch will look fabulous on a coat or suit jacket. Circa 1900.
